There's one liver with two lobes. Keep in mind that parasites known as liver flukes are common in venison. It is also advised to avoid consuming internal organs because of various diseases associated with deer. (Even though I've never heard of any one getting sick or catching anything from venison.)
    If both pieces are connected or were cut apart from the same piece that should be the liver.
