I guess we've eaten venison for so long we don't notice any smell. However, we have found that venison is great on the grill and we use that the most. If you would grill outside that would be one way to take care of it.
Another thing that we do is to use marinades, rubs, and seasonings. We have never been fond of straight venison and it would definitely give off more odor than "enhanced" venison. This is especially true with straight ground venison, which is why we always grind it with pork and beef.
Other than that you may want to light a scented candle in the kitchen area prior to cooking your venison.
