I see nothing to worry about, we run into ticks every year. Once the animal is dead and cools off the ticks start dropping in search of a new host. I believe our record for a deer was 72 ticks that we found. One year we had to sweep the cooler floor just to get rid of  the ticks on it.
I have never heard of anyone having a problem with the meat from a deer that had ticks. We have eaten at least two or three deer a year for the 19 years we've lived here and I would bet that almost every one had ticks. On top of that, Menominee County where we live has the highest incidence on Lymes disease in the Upper Peninsula, and we still haven't had a problem eating venison from here.
The biggest worry to have is the ticks that get on you and not the one's on the deer.
