Some of the high scale "gourmet" supermarkets do offer some venison. However the average supermarket does not stock it because of the law of supply and demand. The supply of domestically raised venison is minimal which results in a retail average of around anywhere from $4 - $5lb for ground venison to over $20lb for tenderloin and loin chops. Add to this the fact that the annual harvest of wild deer in the US is around 10 million animals that reduces the demand for domestic venison by the people that would most likely eat it.
If you want to purchase venison try any of the numerous sources that offer it on the internet.
