Sounds like you handled it perfectly! You should have no problems at all, in fact after it completely cooled down if you wrapped it to prevent moisture loss it would probably hold until Friday or Saturday with no trouble.
Getting it into refrigeration as fast as you did is the key to holding venison and maintaining freshness. Way to go.
